Firstly, the exclusive pre-release copies of Pronobozo's
latest tune "Future Fix"
are available now in the Web
Store. The response we've received for this tune has been
great and we're more then thrilled with the current success
of Pure Phunk Digital. The mission to deliver
quality 'not-quite-dance floor' tunes is well under
way.
Secondly, the 10th vinyl release for Pure Phunk Recordings
hits the shelves just before Christmas! Just in time for all
the festive holiday parties and more importantly: NEW YEARS
EVE! The response on this release has been quite positive from
a wider spectrum of DJ's then originally anticipated. Check
out some of the reactions HERE. We're still very much excited
to be able to work with such a legend like Maestro.
We think the excitement really shows through in the remixes.
Check them out!
And finally, Pure Phunk figurehead D-Monic
has started up a weekly podcast aptly titled: The Pure
Phunk Podcast. Each and every week D-Monic will deliver
a fresh and exclusive mix of whatever he feels like playing.
Check out more info on the podcasts HERE
There are some big announcements coming soon. Stay tuned!

Night Lotion'. More copies will be available in
stores everywhere shortly, and you'll be able to get a copy
here at the Pure Phunk Web Store.

We've taken on the challenge of remixing some of his releases
and we've enlisted some of the hottest talent around to do so.

Pure Phunk Digital: The Next Step
Coming
this May is the next step in the progression of Canadian breaks.
Pure Phunk continues on the path of innovation and proudly launches
our new 'digital-only' division of the label: PURE PHUNK
DIGITAL
This new digital label will be an extension of our existing
label, except the focus will be on breaks… dancefloor
or otherwise. There are many facets to breaks and we're going
to deliver them to you for your listening pleasure. Dancefloor
tunes, down tempo tunes, hip-hop party tunes, and all points
in between.
We are forever moving forward in our quest to bring breaks
to the masses. Our first release will be the resurrection of
a breaks producer that was ahead of his time: Demon
Killa. Soundclips and track info to come.
Keep an eye and an ear out in June for info on how you can
obtain these new tunes.

'Smartbomb' Licensed to Plump DJ's
Mixed Album
Following
the groundbreaking success of ‘A Plump Night Out’
and 2003’s ‘Eargasm’ the Plump DJs are back
with 70 minutes of the highest quality blistering breaks. With
11 original tracks and 2 remixes, Andy Gardner and Lee Rous
have also called upon some of the scene’s biggest names
such as Myagi, Soul Of Man, The Drumattic Twins, Lee Coombs
and Italian sensation Madox to bolster this already heavyweight
package.
'Smartbomb' by Sole Claw is one of
4 non-Plump tunes on the mix. We're vary excited for the launch
of this album at the end of June.

Pure Phunk Merges With 2Wars &
A Revolution Records
Pure Phunk Recordings has
officially merged with 2 Wars & A Revolution Records
& will assume control over the day-to-day operations over
the 2 Wars Label Group effective December 19, 2004.
The 2 Wars & A Revolution label has released over 21 releases
over 5 years and has artists such as Myagi, Jelo, The Incredible
Melting Man, Scissorkicks, Stabilizer and more signed to it.
The merger will expand the impact of Canadian Breaks and Canadian
EDM (Electronic Dance Music) on the world Dance Music Scene.
"I look forward to the opportunity for taking the label
group and the music as a whole to the next level." says
Dan Rice (DJ D-Monic). "It's time to show the rest of the
world what Canada has to offer!"
Featuring the talents of Scissorkicks, Jelo, Myagi, Dave Dub,
the Incredible Melting Man, the Phat Conductor to name a few,
2Wars and the respective label group broke upon the underground
breaks music scene from white label one offs to a globally recognized
label that not only gets airplay in Europe, Australia, Pacific
Rim and the USA market but significant sales. "We are now
convinced that as a label group, we can move forward with force
and compete on an international level." says Rich Poplak.
"With Dan's knowledge of breakbeat music and his contacts
in the scene, there is great optimism in the 2wars camp and
a strong belief in the future."
DJ D-Monic launched Pure Phunk Recordings back in 2003 in an
effort to not only develop the local Breaks & Canadian Electronic
Dance music market but to give developing local talent a shot
at International recognition. With a roster that includes: Sole
Claw, Influenza, Dislexik, Spence &
Pronobozo this up start indie is seriously committed
to breaking new talent. "Pure Phunk Recordings was already
expanding at an amazing rate for an upstart indie label that
produced music for a very niche market. With the additional
strength of the top breaks label in the country and the collective
power of the 2Wars Label Group, we are now a force that demands
to be heard on a global scale. We will bring Canadian Electronic
Dance Music to the forefront!"
Dan Rice is available for interviews, photo ops and special
appearances. His time will be limited, to confirm a timeslot,
